Dear Someone,
I know the feeling you have inside right now.
You feel as though you are slipping away from reality.
Sometimes your mind wanders so far away, you don’t even want to believe there is one.
You feel comfortable and content living in your head.
Your mind is a theme park and your problems are the most popular attraction.
You hesitate to get in line.
You hesitate to face your fears.
You hesitate because you know deep down that this ride will determine the outcome of the rest of your life…
You do it.
You reach the boarding station and buckle up….alone.
You’re nervous. Your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty.
You’re facing your biggest fear.
The ride begins. There’s no turning back. As your cart slowly makes its way up to the top of the peak, you reflect on those moments that made you feel this way.
You’re depressed. Can’t breathe. Lost.
You’re ready to give up. You’re screaming on the inside but quiet on the outside.
You shed a tear and feel an overwhelming sense of pain in your chest.
Anger. Frustration. Sadness.
You think “am I REALLY ready?”
You grip the handles on your seat and prepare for the drop.
You prepare for the change that you need in your life.
Your eyes close tightly.
You’re ready.
The cart accelerates downhill and you’re flying.
You open your eyes and feel as though your soul has been unshackled.
Your hands release their grip on the bar and extend over head, you’re letting go.
The emotions in your chest escape through your mouth with a scream. You can breathe again.
You’re free.
Freedom never felt so good before.
Allah helped you through your hardship.
He promised He would.
This drop is your answered prayers.
You are free of the pain.
You are free from yourself.
The ride comes to an end, and now your new life is ready to begin,
Take advantage of it.
