High School Girls Halaqa
Ages: Girls, High School Only
Time: Saturdays, 6-7:30pm
Location: Second Floor Masjid
The High School Girls Halaqa started in 2013 as Ibad Al-Rahman under the Muslim American Society (MAS). Ever since, the halaqa adopted the concept of “ta’aruf” which in Arabic translates to “the process of getting to know one another.” The goal of the halaqa has been to foster a strong bond of sisterhood among the girls and create an environment where high school girls are comfortable speaking to each other about issues that being a Muslim girl in America faces. The halaqa has played a major role in helping girls decide to wear the hijab, and has been a source of friendship and trust to all those who attend.
