At the Prayer Center of Orland Park, we want to make certain that we continuously strive to make the masjid and our programs accessible for all members of our community; this includes those with special needs. In order to fully understand what must be done, we first need to discover what challenges we are currently facing, which will position us to be able to provide opportunities for involvement into our masjid and community as a whole.

We are also pleased to announce the launch of our Special Needs Weekend School program back in September 2017. The purpose of this program is to give our students the opportunity to receive an Islamic education. This includes introducing them to the Arabic Alphabet, Quran, as well as Salah and other concepts of our religion. All these activities will be tailored to each child’s developmental levels insha’Allah. We currently provide the following accommodations for those with special capabilities:
- Braille Qur’an
- Sign language interpreter at select lectures and khutbas
- Dedicated Special Needs Facilitator
- Wheelchair accessibility
- Monthly Caregiver Support Groups
- Special Needs Weekend School
- Buddy program at all weekly events
