ALLAH, subhanahu wata’la sums up the creation and development of the human being in many verses in the Qur’an and presents it as an example of HIS ability to bring back the dead. Examples include: verse (22:5): O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that], We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you. … then We bring you as a child … And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows of every beautiful kind. (22:5).

Today we see vivid scientific clues that help us realize that death is not the end and that ALLAH can resurrect the dead. However, only HE can do it as stated in the Qur’an. Scientists are convinced that using the DNA from fossils of species that have been extinct for tens of thousands of years can be used to reconstruct their genomes to clone them to produce their approximate replicas. Keep in mind this is not creation and it is not resurrection. It demonstrates that the information in the remains of such species is still there and can be used to clone these species.

Here are a few examples of what scientists are saying about de-extinction: (Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De-extinction ): (1) “De-extinction projects now under way” The Long Now Foundation. Retrieved 2010-05-17; (5) Nicholas Wade (2008-11-19). “Regenerating a Mammoth for $10 Million” The New York Times.  Retrieved 2010-05-17.

Carl Zimmer wrote in the April 2013 cover story for National Geographic, “The concept of de-extinction rests on a relatively simple premise: that we can locate DNA samples from the ancient past, reassemble this DNA into a full genome, inject this genome into embryonic cells that have been emptied of their own DNA, and then find a suitable modern surrogate to give birth.” Again, this demonstrates that the information in the fossilized cells is still useable. The program to process the information for resurrection is only with ALLAH. An article in the New York Time Magazine (by Nathaniel Rich Feb. 27, 2014) entitled, “The Mammoth Cometh: Bringing extinct animals back to life is really happening”, stated that several de-extinction projects are underway. The article also stated “By comparing the fragments of passenger-pigeon DNA with the genomes of similar species, researchers can assemble an approximation of an actual passenger-pigeon genome.

A recent article (Pappas, 2013 Stephanie Pappas Live Science, 11/27/2013, entitled, “Controversial T. Rex Soft Tissue Discovery Finally Has An Explanation,http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/27/t-rex-soft-tissue-discovery_n_4349214.html cited 3/30/2015) it was stated “The controversial discovery of 68-million-year-old soft tissue from the bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex finally has a physical explanation… Mary Schweitzer, a molecular paleontologist at North Carolina State University, explains how proteins — and possibly even DNA — can survive millennia.” After 68 million years soft cells that contain the information is still preserved. Time Magazine  (Time Magazine, March 10, 2014 issue, page 14)  reported that scientists in Spain succeeded in structuring a “mitochondrial genome” using DNA recovered from the remains of what is defined as a 400,000 year old “human ancestor.”  In summary, we know that the information is present in the remains of ancient species. ALLAH told us in the Qur’an that HE will show us his signs in the universe and in our own selves. Subhan ALLAH.
