Eid prayer is a certain sunnah for men, women, and children. The whole Muslim family should attend this great occasion.

Narrated Umm ‘Atiyah (RA): We were commanded (by the prophet PBUH) to bring out on ‘Eidul-Fitr and ‘Eidul-Adha, the young women and the menstruating women to participate in the goodness and supplications of the Muslims. However, menstruating women would refrain from the (actual) place of prayer. [Bukhari and Muslim].

But if a person has a circumstance that prevents him from attending the Eid prayer, he can pray it at home, two rak’ahs, alone or with his family members.

However, it must be taken into consideration that when Eid comes on Friday, whoever missed the Eid prayer in the mosque, and he was one of those who are obligated to pray the Jumaa prayer, then, in this case, must attend the Jumaa prayer in the mosque.
