The Prayer Center of Orland Park

In the heart-wrenching reality of Palestine, a land plagued by oppression and injustice, the cries of newborns deprived of oxygen and the destruction of hospitals echo a painful narrative. Mothers bear the unbearable loss of their children, and generations of families are being erased from the face of the earth. The world watches in silence as over 21,000 lives, with 70% being women and children, are claimed by a conflict that extinguishes dreams, hopes, and aspirations.

Those who should be leaders show unconditional support for the suffering, and those who seek justice and truth are silenced. Yet amidst the chaos, people worldwide stand bravely, speaking against genocide with wisdom and courage regardless of the consequences they may face.

Amidst this darkness, a powerful voice emerges, challenging the silence of the world. The light through this darkness seems dim, but it is us who must be the light. As people of faith and ambassadors of justice, we carry the responsibility to shine a light on the atrocities faced by our brothers and sisters in Palestine. When our beloved prophet ﷺ said, “There will always remain a group from my nation, always upon the truth, always a thorn in the side of their enemies,” it is a reminder that, no matter the torture or oppression, the spirit of justice can’t be broken.

The fearless Palestinians, facing calamities with unwavering resolve, embody the steadfastness and sincerity mentioned by the Prophet ﷺ. It is both inspiring and infuriating, for their strength shouldn’t rely on our silence.

As we witness the struggle, we are reminded that difficult times are not meant to break us; they are an invitation to elevate our souls and deepen our connection with Allah ﷻ. True liberation starts when we lower ourselves before our Maker. True freedom is realized through the surrender of oneself to the Creator. Liberation begins with humility before Allah ﷻ, acknowledging that He is the ultimate source of light in the face of oppression. In moments of hardship, turning towards our Maker becomes not only a solace but a source of strength and guidance.

Alongside turning to Allah ﷻ, we must continue to be the voice for the voiceless, continue spreading the truth via social media, to your peers in work and at school, amongst your friends; continue boycotting companies that have no shame and with no remorse are in support of the genocide of our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

In the face of darkness, let justice be the radiance that dispels oppression and illuminates the path of justice even in those dark moments.
