Orland Park Prayer Center

The Prayer Center of Orland Park

They sleep on cold, hard floors,

Starving and afraid.

While we cozy up in our king size beds,

Stomachs full.

Women and children are dying and yet we don’t do anything about it.

We acutely become reminded of their suffering and shed a few tears.

And that’s it.

That’s all that we give to them.

Reverting back into our normal ways,

Becoming enveloped by our everyday lives yet again,

So much so that we forget about them.

But the thing is,

They can’t forget.

They don’t have the ability to undo what has been done to them,

To bring back their loved ones,

To hold their child one last time.

How can we stand idle and watch as our brothers and sisters in Islam are being tortured,

Being killed,

Becoming victims of injustice?

The least we could do is have a heavy heart.

The least we could do is lift our hands up to the Most Merciful and pray,

Pray that they be protected,

Pray that they be rewarded,

Pray that we are able to come together to their aid.

Lift your hands and pray.

Not for them.

But for you.

For your akhirah.

And for inshallah what will be the safety of our Muslim ummah.
